We often hear that science and Christian faith are locked in conflict—but is that really true? Where do these ideas come from, and can we embrace modern scientific discoveries while staying faithful to Scripture?
At this ISCAST Sydney event, presented in collaboration with Flo Harris Lodge and Petersham Baptist Church, three speakers will dismantle the “conflict myth” and show how science and faith can inspire and strengthen one another:
· Katherine Cooper (Flo Harris Lodge) explores how the supposed clash between religion and science is largely a modern invention, tracing its roots in history and culture.
· Chris Mulherin (ISCAST) explains how Christianity’s belief in an ordered, intelligible universe and human capacity for discovery actually laid the groundwork for modern science.
· Lewis Jones (ISCAST and The Simeon Network) offers practical tools for reading the Bible wisely in light of scientific discovery—showing that we need not fear tough questions, but can welcome them as opportunities to know God more deeply.
